Tree Felling

When Should a Tree Be Removed?

Removal is a last resort. Here are the signs a tree has become a risk.

Tree removal is permanent, so we assess carefully before recommending it. Signs a tree may need removal include extensive deadwood, large cracks in the trunk, a lean that's worsened, fungal rot at the base, or roots lifting and damaging foundations, walls or paving.

Trees that threaten buildings, overhead lines or neighbouring properties - especially after storm damage - should be assessed promptly. A tree that's structurally unsound can fail without warning.

Where the tree is healthy but simply inconvenient, pruning or crown reduction may be enough. We advise removal only where pruning won't resolve the risk.
